Karabakh is a region in southwestern Caucasian Azerbaijan. Karabaghtype of kilims are known for their cheerful and bright colors. Amazing color combinations along with geometric forms brings a special identity, that allows to place them into a specific type of the Karabagh kilims .karabakh kilims can be distinguished for their soft and bright colours . the composition of this elegant kilim consist of three central medallions and triangles stiched to the border ,abstract floral patterns has entirely ormanemted massive medallions, triangles are filled with dazzling geometric patterns , margin is decorated with hexagonal shaped repetitive motifs , mainly pink purple madder red , light green and soft yellow colors have been used . Karabakh was famous for its kilims which started with traditional Turkic Kilim and slowly evolved into different more elaborate ornamental styles such as shadda, zili, verni and palas kilims.
